Boarding to Bogota

I was excited to see what Bogota had to offer since it's not the typical tourist destination! I always look out of my window on the plane for every new city I am landing in. Whether it's mountains, beaches, city skyscrapers, lush green scenery, or anything else a city has to offer. I feel that is my oppurtunity to take in the city from above to get an idea what it looks like! I mean, after all I did pay a pretty price for the plane ticket to get an exclusive fly over of each city from many miles up in the air! The best part, when I open that visor on the window, the view never lets me down. The plane ticket already ends up being priceless. This time as I was landing into Bogota, I take a look from my window and get a beautiful mountain view!

Once I walked out of the airport I got the cool mountain breeze hitting me in the face. The interesting thing about their weather is that it's always a cool mountain breeze. Plus since it is so close to the equator, the sun is always extremely hott! It makes for a perfect mix of weather, for a beautiful day!

Another interesting thing I noticed right away was my shortness of breath and severe headache. I wasn't understanding why it felt so hard to breathe and why I just got such a horrible headache out of no where. Then I realized, Bogota is a city in the mountains, maybe I should check the altitude! As I am checking on my phone, the first thing I see is beware of Bogota alitutude sickness...wait what?? What I am feeling is actually a thing here?

Come to find out, Bogota is the second highest capital city in the world. The city is approximately at 8,660 feet above sea level, and is located in the north-western plain area of the Andes Mountains.

Wander on…never stop wandering!

Free Bird!
