We had a little weekend getaway to a cute, old town in the country side of Colombia. The city is so beautifully situated in the middle of the mountains, which is the Andes mountain range, and it had the perfect little country town feel to it. The roads are paved by pebble stones with old colonial buildings all through out. The whole city is kept so nicely and very clean, and in most of the roads no car were allowed, which brought a very colonial feel to the town.

We stayed in a beautiful home which was in a little village just a short walk from the city square. There were a group of homes that were kept “hidden” behind a wall and we had to enter through a little gate, such a cute area!

Villa del Leyva is becoming a big tourist destination for many adventurers from all over the world. As we were walking around there were many foreigners exploring the place just like us. The first night we hung out in the city square and had dinner at this cute little restaurant, it was so much fun with live music playing all throughout the square, and of course there was so much tequila!

This is definitely a must place to see if you are traveling through the Bogota area because I thought it was a beautiful, old country town in Colombia!

Wander on…never stop wandering!
